Not a banknote in any monetary sense. These are gasoline retailer scrip tokens — promotional "money" issued by petroleum companies in Canada during the 1980s and early 1990s as loyalty incentives, redeemable at the pump or in-store rather than at any financial institution. Ultramar, Esso, and Petro-Canada each ran overlapping variants of these schemes, which is why multi-branded examples exist as a single catalog grouping. The paper composition and dimensions place this firmly in the coupon category, not the currency one.
