| Obverse description | Three caparisoned elephants facing forward in a symmetrical arrangement, standing upon a tiered pedestal, and supporting a seven-tiered parasol (chattra) above the central round hole — together forming the royal arms of the Kingdom of Laos. The bilingual legend ROYAUME DU LAOS in Latin script arcs along the left rim, while the Lao script equivalent ພະຣາຊະອານາຈັກລາວ arcs along the right rim. The date 1952 appears in the exergue in Arabic numerals. The design is executed in low relief with fine engraving characteristic of the Monnaie de Paris workshop. |

| Obverse lettering | ROYAUME DU LAOS ພະຣາຊະອານາຈັກລາວ 1952 (Translation: KINGDOM OF LAOS Kingdom of Laos 1952) |
| Reverse description | The denomination is displayed prominently in both Latin script (20 CENTS) and Lao script (໒໐ ອັດ), flanking the central round hole. The date appears in both Western Arabic numerals (1952) and Lao numerals (໑໙໕໒). A decorative rosette composed of stylized frangipani (plumeria) leaves and petals frames the design, lending it an ornamental character typical of French Indochinese coinage of the period. |
