Obverse description Seated allegorical figure of the French Republic facing left, wearing a radiate crown and classical draped robes, holding a long spear or lance upright in her raised right hand. A sheaf of grain stands to her left in the field, and an anchor is partially visible at lower right, symbolizing maritime trade. The engraver's name BARRE appears in small letters along the lower exergue, with the date 1931 inscribed prominently at the bottom. The legend REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE curves along the upper periphery. The coin is bordered by a continuous beaded rim.
