Obverse description The full Jamaican coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield decorated with five pineapples on a saltire, supported on the dexter by a female Taino figure holding a basket of fruit and on the sinister by a male Taino figure bearing a spear, both in traditional dress. A crocodile passant surmounts the helm and mantling above the shield. The national motto OUT OF MANY ONE PEOPLE appears on a scroll beneath the supporters. The country name JAMAICA arcs along the upper legend in widely spaced letters, while the date appears at the base of the field; the mint mark FM is present on this issue.
