Obverse description Left-facing crowned and draped bust of King George V, modelled by engraver Edgar Bertram MacKennal, occupying the central field. The king is depicted wearing the Imperial State Crown and robes of state, with fine detail in the collar and drapery. A beaded inner border frames the effigy, with the circular Latin legend running along the periphery between the inner beading and the milled edge. A small star serves as a stop mark within the legend.
