| Obverse description | Left-facing crowned effigy of King George V, engraved by Edgar Bertram MacKennal, dominates the obverse field. The king is portrayed in military uniform with epaulettes and collar visible at the truncation, wearing the Imperial State Crown. A neatly trimmed beard and moustache characterize the portrait in the style consistent with MacKennal's definitive coinage effigy used throughout the British Empire. The surrounding legend reads GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: REX ET IND:IMP:, arranged along the coin's periphery, with a beaded border encircling the entire design. |
