Obverse description The Jamaican coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield bearing five golden pineapples, supported on the dexter by a female Taino figure and on the sinister by a male Taino warrior, each in traditional dress. A crocodile passant serves as the crest above the shield, and a flowing scroll below bears the national motto. The legend JAMAICA arcs along the upper periphery, with the mint mark FM visible in the field, and the date 1981 appears at the bottom within a beaded border.
