Reverse description Two Brolga cranes (Antigone rubicunda) depicted in their characteristic courtship ritual dance set against a stylised Northern Territory wetlands landscape, engraved by Lisa Brett. The foreground bird stands with wings fully spread in animated display, while the second bird appears in a bowing posture to the left, both wading among schematic water and reed motifs. Rocky outcrops and stylised clouds fill the field behind the figures. The legend CENTENARY OF FEDERATION and NORTHERN TERRITORY arcs across the upper field, the denomination 20 CENTS appears in bold relief at the lower centre, and the engraver's initials LB are inscribed to the lower right of the central design.
