Reverse description A boldly rendered Waratah flower (Telopea speciosissima), the floral emblem of New South Wales, is depicted in high relief at centre, superimposed over an incuse outline map of the State of New South Wales. A decorative scroll banner across the upper field bears the commemorative dates 1901-2001. The denomination 20 appears at lower right, and the engraver's initials JKN are inscribed at the left field. The legend CENTENARY OF FEDERATION curves along the lower rim.
