| Obverse description | The fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, depicted wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs above, with AUSTRALIA 2017 appearing below the effigy in the field. The designer's initials IRB appear at the lower right of the portrait. The effigy was executed by Ian Rank-Broadley and reflects a mature, refined rendering of the sovereign in the tradition of Commonwealth coinage. |
