Released as part of Australia's "Battles for Australia" commemorative program, this issue marks the Australian Defence Force's involvement in the Afghanistan conflict — the longest war in Australian military history, with troops deployed continuously from 2001 to 2014. Forty-one Australians were killed in action during that deployment, the majority in Uruzgan Province.
