Reverse description The reverse features the large numeral 20 prominently displayed in the central field, with the word MONNAIE inscribed above and D'APPOINT below, together denoting subsidiary or small-change coinage. The central device is surrounded by a finely tooled inner border of alternating beads and ring ornaments. The peripheral legend L'UNION ★ FAIT ★ LA ★ FORCE — the Belgian national motto meaning 'Unity makes strength' — arcs around the upper portion of the coin, separated by five-pointed stars. The date 1860 appears in the lower exergual area, also flanked by stars, all within a plain raised rim.
