Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of Jean-Claude Duvalier occupying the central field, engraved by Soccorsi. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE D'HAITI arcs along the upper rim, while JOURNEE MONDIALE DE L'ALIMENTATION curves along the lower rim. To the left of the effigy appears the FAO emblem incorporating the date 16 OCT 1981, commemorating World Food Day. The overall design is rendered in a restrained neoclassical style typical of Italian mint work.

Reverse description Two agricultural workers harvesting coffee berries from a laden bush occupy the central field in a naturalistic, high-relief composition. The legend PLEIN EMPLOI is divided across the upper field to left and right of the central design. The date 1981 appears at lower left, the mint mark R (Rome) below it, and the denomination 0.20 at lower right. The word GOURDES curves along the lower rim, completing the denomination. The engraver's name Soccorsi is inscribed at lower right.
