Obverse description The central round hole is surrounded by Arabic inscriptions arranged in three registers across the field, all within a beaded inner border and a scalloped outer border. The upper register bears the name and title of the ruler Ahmad Muddat Bey of Tunisia in flowing Arabic script. The denomination 20 centimes appears in the middle register flanking the central perforation, while the Hijri date 1361 is inscribed in the lower register in Eastern Arabic numerals. The overall design, engraved by Lucien Georges Bazor, presents a clean, functional layout typical of French Protectorate-era Tunisian coinage.
