Reverse description The denomination '20 CENTAVOS' is displayed prominently in the central field, surrounded by the legend 'MONEDA PROVISIONAL.' An open laurel wreath frames the central value, with its ends parted at the base; this variety is distinguished by the absence of the mintmaster's mark 'TM' below the wreath. The entire composition is enclosed within a border of inward-facing convex half-moons, consistent with the obverse framing style.

Additional information

Oaxaca's provisional coinage of 1915 was issued under the authority of Guillermo Meixueiro and the sovereign state government that refused to recognize Carranza's Constitutionalist faction during the Mexican Revolution. The state operated effectively as an independent entity, and this copper issue was struck to meet local commercial needs when federal currency had collapsed in circulation and was widely distrusted.

The Oaxacan series is notable for including both copper and gold denominations — an unusual range for a regional emergency issue. KM#732 sits among the more obtainable pieces in the series, though genuine examples are frequently encountered alongside later restrike material.
