Obverse description Unadorned male bust in right profile, generally identified as a stylized portrait of Simón Bolívar, occupying the central field. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE is inscribed along the left arc and COLOMBIA continues along the right arc, with the legend notably divided after 'DE' at the top. The date 1971 appears in the exergue at the base of the design, flanked by a beaded inner border running the full circumference.

Reverse description Large numeral '20' is displayed prominently in the upper central field, with the denomination CENTAVOS inscribed below in bold capital letters.
