Obverse description Left-facing laureate bust of Liberty, her hair gathered in a chignon and adorned with an olive branch, rendered in a classical Republican style derived from the standard Portuguese colonial type. A fine beaded border runs along the inner rim. The colonial territory name GUINÉ appears in an arc to the right of the effigy within the field.

Reverse description Central field displays the bold numeral '20' in large raised figures, with the denomination legend CENTAVOS inscribed in a straight line beneath. The circular legend REPUBLICA PORTUGUESA arcs around the upper portion of the coin, while the date 1933 is displayed along the lower arc, flanked by two small five-pointed stars. A beaded border frames the entire design.
