Additional information

Colombia's silver coinage of this period was repeatedly disrupted by the country's chronic fiscal instability and the aftershocks of the Thousand Days' War, which had ended in 1902 leaving the treasury effectively gutted. Production of this type was consequently erratic across its three-decade run, with multiple gaps in striking that KM date listings tend to obscure.

The 1942 terminus coincides with wartime silver pressures that forced Colombia, like most Latin American nations, to eventually abandon silver for base-metal coinage in smaller denominations.
