Obverse description Central field bears four large Chinese characters arranged vertically in two columns, flanked left and right by Manchu script characters identifying the Boo-gi (Kirin/Jilin) mint. Additional Chinese characters appear above and below the central group, reading collectively as the reign title Guangxu, the denomination, and the provincial authority. Small floral or rosette ornaments occupy the interstices between the character groups. The entire design is contained within a beaded inner border.
