Obverse description Cast bronze cash coin centred on a raised-rimmed square perforation, from which four raised linear dividers extend toward the outer rim, dividing the field into quadrants. Two Chinese ideograms rendered in archaic Wang Mang seal script (xiao zhuan) are positioned in the upper and lower quadrants respectively, reading clockwise together with those flanking the hole: You Quan Er Shi (幼泉二十), meaning 'Juvenile Coin, Twenty,' denoting the denomination of 20 cash. The characters are boldly cast in relief against a flat, undecorated field, with a plain raised outer rim encircling the design.
