Reverse description Central field displays a finely detailed five-clawed Imperial dragon in profile, coiling sinuously amid stylised clouds and flames, its head facing left with an open mouth and prominent whiskers. A flaming pearl is depicted beneath the dragon's body at the lower centre, flanked by decorative cloud scrolls and floral elements. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, outside of which the Chinese legend 光緒年造 (Made in the Guangxu year) runs along the upper arc. The outer ring bears the romanised legend TAI-CHING-TI-KUO COPPER COIN. reading from the lower left to lower right, with a stop after COIN, all set between the beaded border and the milled rim.
