| Obverse description | Central field displays four Chinese ideograms arranged in a vertical cross pattern, reading top to bottom and right to left, flanked by Manchu script characters above. A circular border of Chinese ideograms surrounds the central inscription, identifying the denomination, issuing authority (Ministry of Revenue), mint (Yunnan), and reign period (Guangxu). The Manchu legend above reads the cyclical year designation, corresponding to regnal year 43. The overall arrangement follows the traditional square-and-border format characteristic of late Qing imperial cash-denomination copper coinage. |
