| Reverse description | Central intaglio vignette of a hippopotamus emerging from a river amid dense riverside vegetation, rendered with fine engraved detail. Flanking the central scene are two large guilloche rosette panels — a plain lathe-work circle to the left and an ornate floral guilloche medallion to the right. The denomination numeral '20' appears in each upper corner, with the bank title in a scrollwork cartouche at top and 'VINTE ANGOLARES' in a decorative cartouche at bottom; the printer's imprint 'THOMAS DE LA RUE & CGY. LTD. LONDRES, INGLATERRA' is printed in small lettering along the lower margin. |
