| Obverse description | Printed in red-brown on a cream ground with an elaborate guilloche border and radiating sunburst underprint at centre. The Afghan national arms — an eagle with shield — appears as a circular vignette at left, while an intaglio vignette at right shows a tall commemorative column surrounded by trees.
