Reverse description A biga drawn by two bulls galloping to the right, driven by a figure holding the reins; a Winged Victory figure appears in the upper field, crowning the charioteer (on certain specimens). The scene is rendered with vigorous movement, the bulls depicted with curly fleece and powerful musculature. The ethnic legend AISERNINO appears in the exergue below, identifying the issuing city of Aesernia. A dotted border frames the composition, consistent with Samnite civic bronze coinage of this period.
