| Obverse description | Central field depicts two athletes engaged in Ssireum, the traditional Korean form of wrestling, rendered in high relief with muscular anatomical detail. One wrestler lifts and throws his opponent in a dynamic pose conveying power and movement. A circular border surrounds the design, with a Korean Hangul legend along the upper arc reading '제 24회 올림픽대회유치기념' (Commemorating the Bid for the 24th Olympic Games).
