The figure is portrayed frontally with fine engraved detail conveying indigenous ceremonial dress. The surrounding circular legend reads :QVINTO:CENTENARIO: referencing the quincentennial of Columbus's voyage to the Americas, while the lower portion of the legend bears the mint mark M, denomination 20000 PTAS, and the fineness mark 500.
