| Obverse description | Printed in dark red on an ochre-orange underprint, the obverse carries the heading NOTGELD in bold Gothic lettering at the top centre, flanked by the series designation Lit. B at upper left and a serial number at upper right. The denomination 20 Milliarden Mark is set in large Gothic script across the centre, above the date line reading Haslach i/k., Hausach, Schiltach, Wolfach, den 1. November 1923. The background underprint consists of a light guilloche pattern incorporating what appear to be the municipal coats of arms of the four issuing towns, with the denomination 20 MILLIARDEN repeated along the lower border. Four handwritten signatures of the respective Bürgermeisters appear across the lower portion of the note. |
