Poland's bimetallic 2 Złote circulation coinage was introduced in 1994 as the country rebuilt its monetary infrastructure following the redenomination that stripped four zeros from the old złoty. Trial strikes from this transitional period were produced by Mennica Państwowa to test die alignment, planchet feed, and collar tolerances on the new bimetallic blank — a format the mint had limited recent production experience with. Most trials were destroyed after evaluation; survivors reached the market through collector channels rather than official release.
