Additional information

Trial strikes from Mennica Polska in the early 1990s were produced as internal production tests during the redesign of Poland's decimal coinage following the redenomination that dropped four zeros from the złoty in 1995. This piece predates that redenomination by a year, placing it in the transitional window when the mint was finalizing specifications for the incoming currency series. Most examples remained within the mint or passed to institutional collectors; almost none reached the open market through normal channels.
