Reverse description The reverse presents a detailed architectural view of the Płock Cathedral (the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Sigismund), one of Poland's oldest Romanesque cathedrals, rendered in high relief with both incuse and raised elements creating a dramatic contrast between polished and matte surfaces. The composition depicts the cathedral complex with its characteristic twin towers, domed side chapel, and Romanesque nave, shown in a three-quarter perspective. The city name PŁOCK is inscribed in large capital letters along the upper left of the field, its letters slightly angled following the curve of the coin. A thin horizontal line at the base of the design demarcates the ground line of the architectural scene.
