Issued as part of Poland's ongoing commemorative circulation series, this piece marks the Łazienki Palace complex — built as a summer residence for Stanisław August Poniatowski, Poland's last king, in the late eighteenth century. The palace survived the Nazi occupation largely intact, a deliberate exception: Hans Frank ordered it preserved, apparently intending it as a personal residence after the war. The surrounding park was not so fortunate.
