Additional information

The ORP Warszawa was a Soviet-built Kashin-class destroyer transferred to the Polish Navy in 1970, making Poland one of the few Warsaw Pact nations outside the USSR to operate a guided-missile destroyer. The ship served until 2003 and was decommissioned without a direct successor, effectively ending Poland's surface combatant capability at that tonnage level.

This coin is part of NBP's long-running Nordic gold circulation-commemorative series honoring Polish military vessels — a program that attracted collector hoarding from early issues, meaning most examples are found in uncirculated condition despite nominal face value.
