| Reverse description | A portrait bust of Mikołaj Rej facing three-quarters to the right dominates the central field, rendered in a stylized Renaissance manner befitting the subject's era. Rej (1505–1569), the celebrated Polish writer, politician, and poet widely regarded as a father of Polish literary language, is depicted in period dress. The commemorative inscription arcs along the upper portion of the field, with his birth and death years flanking the design in the lower field. The overall composition reflects the coin's purpose of honoring the 500th anniversary of Rej's birth. |
