| Reverse description | Right-facing bust portrait of the Polish zoologist and biologist Michał Siedlecki, depicted with a full beard and round spectacles, wearing a formal jacket, occupying the right portion of the field. To the left, a framed square vignette contains a circular medallion-like illustration of a radiolarian or marine micro-organism, referencing Siedlecki's scientific work in protozoology and marine biology. The legend MICHAŁ SIEDLECKI is inscribed in two lines in the upper left field, with the birth and death years 1873 and 1940 arranged in two lines at the lower left, beneath the scientific illustration. |

| Additional information |
Siedlecki was a Polish zoologist and pioneering marine biologist whose work at the turn of the twentieth century included significant research on protozoa and parasitology — fields that were, at the time, reshaping how European scientists understood cellular life. He directed the Kraków Jagiellonian University's zoology department and helped establish Poland's marine research station at Hel on the Baltic coast.
The Nordic gold collector series from NBP, launched in the late 1990s, was designed to circulate as legal tender while functioning as low-cost commemoratives. Siedlecki's 2001 inclusion placed him among a notably eclectic roster of Polish scientists honored in the run.
