| Obverse description | At center, a relief map of Poland occupies the field, with the Polish state emblem — a crowned eagle with wings displayed, set against the map — rendered in high relief. The circular legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA arcs along the upper periphery, while the date 2004 appears to the right. The denomination zł 2 zł is inscribed in the lower field beneath the map. The mint mark MW appears on the obverse field. |

| Additional information |
Part of the NBP's long-running Nordic gold provincial series launched in 2004 to mark Poland's EU accession year, this piece represents one of sixteen voivodeship coins released simultaneously — a coordinated issue that flooded the collector market and kept secondary prices modest for the entire run. Lubuskie, formed only in 1999 from parts of the former Zielona Góra and Gorzów Wielkopolski provinces, was among the newest administrative units being commemorated.
