Part of NBP's long-running Nordic Gold wildlife series, which began in 1995 and eventually ran to dozens of animal subjects. The Eurasian badger has been legally protected in Poland since 1952, though that protection was partially lifted for agricultural damage control in later decades — a tension that gave the series entries like this one a quietly conservationist undertone without ever being explicitly promotional.
