Obverse description The obverse is printed in red-orange on a pale ground and centres on the Polish state eagle within a shield at the top, flanked by the bank title 'NARODOWY BANK POLSKI' in a guilloche-bordered panel. Large numeral '2' vignettes occupy both lateral margins, surrounded by intricate lathe-work and floral rosette underprints. A central panel carries a legal-tender obligation clause and the date '1944', with the alphanumeric serial number repeated twice along the lower margin.
