Obverse description Enthroned figure of Christ in Glory seated upon billowing clouds, rendered in high relief in the Baroque manner, holding the papal keys in his left hand and a small chapel or tabernacle in his right, with a radiant nimbus encircling his head. The pontifical arms of Benedict XIV, featuring the Lambertini family shield, appear in the lower exergue below the clouds, flanked by the date 17-48 divided at the base. The circular legend BENEDIC XIV PONT M A VIII is disposed along the left and right periphery respectively, reading from bottom to top on each side.
