| Obverse description | Central design depicts a panoramic seascape view of Dokdo (Liancourt Rocks), showing multiple rocky islets rising from stylized ocean waves rendered in fine engraved lines, with seabirds in flight above against the open field. The upper legend curves along the periphery in Hangul script reading the full name of the issuing bank. Inscribed across the lower central field in a cursive Hangul script are the patriotic verses 'Oh Dokdo! The land of our people forever.' The denomination '2원' (2 Won) appears prominently at the base of the design, flanked on either side by small decorative foliate sprigs. |
