| Reverse description | The reverse displays a crowned oval shield bearing the quartered arms of the Landgraviate of Upper Alsace and the County of Pfirt, surmounted by an arched crown. The surrounding legend, partially abbreviated and reading LANDG ALSA CO PH or CO PHIR, identifies Ferdinand II's titles as Landgrave of Alsace and Count of Pfirt. The shield is rendered in a characteristic late Renaissance heraldic style, consistent with Tyrolean mint production of the late sixteenth century. |
