Obverse description Central field bears a multi-line Arabic-script legend in fine Nastaliq calligraphy, enclosed within a beaded oval cartouche. The inscription reads the royal title and name of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar. Surrounding the cartouche is a decorative wreath composed of olive branches on the left and oak branches on the right, tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The mint name Tehran appears at the very bottom of the wreath. The entire design is contained within a plain raised rim with a beaded inner border.
