Obverse description Central field features the crowned arms of Toruń — a crowned eagle displayed within a shield surmounted by an ornate civic crown — positioned in the upper portion of the die. Below the arms, the field is filled with a multi-line Latin inscription arranged in six lines commemorating the city's resistance during the Swedish siege of February 1629. The legends read THORVNIA / OBSIDЕТ: OFFENSA / ET IN DEO FIDENS / CONTRA CIVI:B:DEFENSA / XVI. FEBR. / ANNO / MDCXXIX, recording the date and circumstances of the siege. The composition is austere and text-dominated, consistent with emergency or commemorative siege coinage of the period. Dots serve as punctuation and decorative separators between words throughout the inscription.
