Obverse description Draped bust of Count Simon Henry of Lippe facing right, wearing a flowing long wig with voluminous curls cascading over the shoulders, rendered in high relief in the late Baroque manner. The truncation shows elaborate drapery with decorative clasps. The circumferential legend in Latin runs along the beaded inner border of the coin.

Reverse description The quartered coat of arms of the County of Lippe, displaying roses and a six-pointed star in the quarters, surmounted by a large coronet and supported on either side by rampant lions as heraldic supporters, the whole resting upon ornamental palm or acanthus sprays. The date 1685 is divided by the base of the shield, with the mintmaster's initials I H appearing in the field to the right. The motto legend encircles the design along the beaded inner border.
