Obverse description Full-length facing effigy of St. Kilian, patron saint of Würzburg, depicted in episcopal vestments and standing in a formal hieratic pose. Beneath the saint's figure, a quartered heraldic shield bearing the four-fold arms of the bishopric divides the initials S and K (Sanctus Kilianus) and the date 1552 split across the lower field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the composition, separated from the central design by a beaded inner border.
