Reverse description A large crowned ornate heraldic shield bearing a composite coat of arms, with the small escutcheon of Upper Alsace prominently placed at center, all contained within a beaded inner circle. Two small accessory shields appear at the sides of the legend, that of Strasbourg at left and Passau at right, while two further small shields of Mürbach and Lüders are positioned at the base of the composition. The surrounding Latin legend reads: STIRIAE . CARINT. CARN : LAND : ALS ., enumerating Leopold's titles as ruler of Styria, Carinthia, Carniola, and Landgrave of Alsace. The elaborate baroque heraldic design is executed with fine detail, reflecting the high artistic standards of the Ensisheim mint.
