Obverse description Full-length frontal-facing figure of St. Peter, the patron saint of Trier, depicted walking to the left, robed and nimbed, holding a key in one hand and a book in the other. The field surrounding the figure carries the Latin titles and name of Archbishop Johann VII von Schönenberg. The legend is arranged around the periphery of the coin in a formal ecclesiastical style characteristic of late 16th-century German archiepiscopal coinage.
