Obverse description Half-length figure of Elector George William facing right, wearing Electoral robes with fur-trimmed mantle and ruffled collar, his right hand raised and holding a sceptre, his left hand resting at his side; he is depicted wearing a broad-brimmed hat. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the baroque style characteristic of early seventeenth-century German coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait within a beaded border.
