Obverse description Armored half-length bust of Elector George William facing right, wearing a plumed crown and an ermine-trimmed mantle adorned with an eagle brooch; his right hand holds a scepter while his left grasps a sword hilt. The figure is rendered in the ornate Baroque style typical of early seventeenth-century German coinage. A continuous Latin legend encircles the bust within the beaded border, citing the elector's full title as Margrave of Brandenburg and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire.
