Reverse description The quartered coat of arms of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, surmounted by a grand ducal crown, is displayed at the centre of the field. The shield incorporates the heraldic charges of the duchy's constituent territories. Encircling the arms is the collar of the Order of the Elephant, with the distinctive elephant pendant suspended at the base. The denomination legend 2 THALER COURANT is arranged vertically on either side of the arms, and the date 1830 appears in the exergue beneath the collar.
